RxRelief: Helping Families Pay for Prescription Drugs

[ad_1]
With October upon us and as the weather slowly begins to change, families continue to find it increasingly difficult to stretch their limited dollars.
According to a national survey conducted by the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), nearly half of patients and caregivers (46 percent) say that they or someone in their immediate household has not been able to afford the reimbursable expenses medication in the past year. Six in ten say they would have extreme difficulty paying for their treatments and medications without assistance.
Turlock is no different from the rest of the nation. The difference is this: Through Legacy Health Endowment and EMC Health Foundation, we are implementing an aid program, which we call RxRelief. We are honored to partner with Community Health Centers of America and Boies Pharmacy to fill your prescriptions.
RxRelief is for any person or family with or without commercial health insurance whose income is 300% or less of the federal poverty line.

Why was this program created?
About 1 in 4 people who take prescription drugs have difficulty paying for them. Many ration the drugs they take to pay for them. Legacy Health Endowment and EMC Health Foundation were created to ensure that our communities are healthier and that we remove barriers to care. It is important to help people refill or renew their medications. It keeps them away from hospital emergencies.
We recognize the need is great and are proud to help.
